Art & Sole 5K

Take part in either a 5k run or walk (or both!) through the Arts District. There will be two different courses offered through this event. One course will be specific to those looking to run the route and the other course specific to those looking to walk the route. Both routes go through the Old Main Street District and the East River Trail. Enjoy the sites of Morty the Moose, Frida Kahlo, a Graffiti mural and various bike sculptures while exploring the Arts District. After the run take part in art activities and then make your way over to the Saturday Farmers Market to enjoy a free Great Harvest Cookie and a free local craft brew at Art Street. All proceeds will benefit the public art fund, “Art on Main,” to bring more art to the streets!

Cost:

●     Early Bird Registration, before July 31st is $20. 

●     Registration after July 31st is $25

●     Day before and Race day registration is $30

Registration includes the opportunity to either run (police supervision will be provided) or walk (some police supervision will be provided, but walkers need to follow the cross walk signals) the Arts District or do both! It also includes a t-shirt, free Great Harvest cookie at the Saturday Farmers Market and a free craft brew at Art Street!

Friday, August 26th

Early Packet Pick-Up

Time: 5 - 7 p.m.

Location: Art Street 

Race Day: Saturday, August 27th

Day of Packet Pick-Up

8 a.m. - 8:45 a.m.

Location: Whitney Park

You may pick up the packet of another participant.

Start Line Events:

8:55 a.m. - National Anthem

9 a.m. - Race Start at the newest mural of the Arts District (620 Main St.)

Finish Line Events:

9:30 a.m. -11 a.m. Finish Line Food and Beverages and Art Festivities at Whitney Park (800 Main St.)

The start and finish line are one block away from each other!

Food and Beverage Provided by Festival Foods, Great Harvest Bread and Schreiber Foods.

Weather:

Parking:

Parking is available on nearby streets and lots. Signs will be put up in areas around Whitney Park where parking will be prohibited.

Water stops:

At mile 1.5 of the running and walking route

Bib information:

Please wear your race bib on the FRONT and on the outermost layer of clothing.  This will not be an officially timed race. There will be a time clock at the start and finish line.

Awards:

Top three females and males overall in the running event.
