Mountain biking at the Levis and Trow Mound Trail and the surrounding county forest is some of the best anywhere in the mid-west. With trails ranging from beginner to advanced, the off-road enthusiast will find riding here well worth the trip.
The trail system consists of approximately fifteen miles of rolling cross country ski trail and another 25 miles of singletrack routes. The more advanced trails are located ascending both Levis on Trow Mounds, while intermediate and easy trails lie near the bases and surrounding forest . All singletrack has been designed and constructed by members of the Neillsville Area Trail Association (N.A.T.A.). Riders will encounter some sand, rock and difficult climbing and descending on the more technical routes. Deer, turkeys, fishers, coyote and even a stray wolf can be spotted among the forested 300 foot tall sandstone bluffs.
Facilities at the Levis mound Trail Center include a large parking area and running water and mens and womens bathrooms (located on Fisher Ave, on the east side of Levis mound). Trail Fees For Mt.
